On September 26, the “2024 China Cotton Textile Industry High-Quality Development Conference and National Denim Industry Annual Meeting” concluded successfully in Xiqiao Town, Foshan, Guangdong. The conference, themed “Intelligent Manufacturing, Green, New Quality” focused on high-quality development paths and green transformation strategies for the denim industry. Exponent Envirotech was invited to present its self-developed Indigo Recovery System, offering innovative solutions for the circular economy in denim.

The conference was organized by the China Cotton Textile Industry Association, with the Denim Branch of the Association and the People’s Government of Xiqiao Town co-hosting the event. During the guest sharing session, Zhang Weiyi, product director of Exponent Envirotech, delivered a presentation titled “New Drivers of Circular Economy—The Application of Membrane Treatment Technology in Indigo Recovery.”

In his presentation, Zhang emphasized that enhancing technological innovation, improving recycling systems, promoting circular fashion, and strengthening policy guidance can effectively foster sustainable development in the denim apparel sector. He further elaborated on how Exponent Envirotech successfully developed the Indigo Recovery System through independent research and innovation.

This system utilizes membrane separation technology and onsite concentration testing devices to achieve over 95% recycling of indigo and water, resulting in nearly zero wastewater discharge during dyeing and washing processes. It significantly reduced the difficulty of end-of-pipe treatment. The system has an investment return period of 2-3 years and has already been implemented by leading denim enterprises such as ADVANCE DENIM, showcasing excellent environmental and economic benefits.

At the conference exhibition area, Exponent Envirotech’s booth attracted considerable attention from participants. They engaged in in-depth discussions about the principles, technological advantages, and cost-effectiveness of the Indigo Recovery System. Attendees recognized the system’s significant benefits in reducing production costs and enhancing resource efficiency, praising its concentration testing device as a valuable tool for stabilizing denim dyeing quality.
